Newton’s law of inertia states that an object will either continue in the same direction or stay stationary unless acted upon by and unequal force.
When throwing paint at canvas it occurred to me that this was Newton’s law in action. It is only when the paint leaves the tube and hits the canvas that something unique (and hopefully beautiful) is created.
This led me to think about the twists and turns my life has taken. I was on a course that was rudely interrupted by illness, which slammed me into the canvas in no uncertain terms. I am finally starting to see that something beautiful can come from this collision with illness, in the form of my artwork, which I discovered as part of learning to slow down and enjoy the moment.
The Inertia exhibition is symbolic of a further step in my recovery.
Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged and purchased my artwork to this point.
I hope the best of life and my portrayal of it is yet to come!
